This teaching from the Secret Place is designed to bless you and encourage you in

When you first begin to see the Lord in the Secret Place, you may spend your
appointed time of prayer simply rejecting wandering thoughts, and then falling back into
thinking them again. Some devotional methods may not work for you, but eventually you
will develop a sweet time of fellowship with God. Some of those methods are, listening to
"Soaking Music" which is usually instrumental and gentle. Some like Bach or Beethoven.
Some just sit quietly and contemplate God, Jesus and His appointed work on the earth or
on the Holy Spirit. Any way you decide and purpose in your heart to seek God and to get
to know Him will be successful. Time, effort and purpose will finally win out.
The shortest way to go to God is not by mortifications of your body or other similar
exercises that physically or mentally abuse your body or mind. Go straight to Him by a
continual exercise of love and faith and doing all things FOR HIS SAKE. Your time with
Him is for Him not for you at all. He loves to commune with you and have communion
with your heart. Praying in the Spirit will benefit greatly as you approach our loving Father.
Distinguish between an act of understanding and an act of your will. An act of the
understanding is very little value but an act of the will is of utmost importance. The
Pharisees tried to understand and could not. Your supreme action of bringing your will
under subjection is the first act of showing your love for the Lord and wanting to be with
Him.
Accustom yourself to do everything for the love of God, with prayer upon all
occasions for His grace to do His work well. You will find work you naturally have a great
aversion to, will be easy when it is always to please Him. By doing even little things for the
love of God, you will find yourself pleasing yourself and enjoying the task.
When you are very conscious of your faults, do not be discouraged by them, but
confess them to God. Do not excuse them, or accuse Him. Then, peaceably resume your
usual practice of love.
Father, help me recognize my sins and put them before You quickly: even sins I am
committing unaware. Help me to forsake them immediately and by the power of Your
Holy Spirit to break the strong hold of their temptations. I desire to do Your will. Please
give me strength to forsake any sins which have become habits and to which I feel bound.
Father,You know there are many times that I must concentrate totally on a task and cannot
have a conscious thought of You, but in those times I thank You for Your presence and
Your guidance fulfilling my responsibilities. By the gentle nudge of Your Spirit, call me
once again to prayer that I might do every task, seeking Your power and insight. May I be
conscious that You are an ever present help in time of trouble. I love You, O Father, and
want to do everything for Your ultimate glory. Amen
